Module 2, 4–29 July
Work session 1: 4–8 July with Libia Castro & Ólafur Ólafsson Through video, photography and sound, participants experimented with the genre of portraiture and documentary, in dialogue with (post)conceptual, interventionists, relational and 'new realistic' artistic practices.
Work session 2: 11–15 July with Renata Lucas (13 July, Visiting guest: Luis Bisbe, artist, Barcelona) This week the group discussed a series of potential interventions, alterations or displacements around the Espai Cultural Caja Madrid and its immediate surroundings in the city center.
Work session 3: 18–22 July withPeter Piller (20 July, Visiting guest: Francesc Ruiz, artist, Barcelona) The week focused on the analysis of the artist's books and catalogues. Each student, in dialogue with Piller, developed a mock up artist's book taking into account the format that best suited their artistic practice. Work session 4: 25–29 July withAdrià Julià (27 July, visit to Toastmasters, Barcelona) This last week focused on the performativity of artistic practice and the different mechanisms of presentation and representation of the participants own work and that of others.
