When drafting the itinerary for Incidents (of Travel)'s 15th dispatch, artist Salim Bayri hoped to offer “an alternative vision of Amsterdam that would serve in the future as an indicator of our current times.” Navigating lockdown restrictions in the Netherlands, the day spent together with curator Àngels Miralda features public sport locations as meeting spaces, as well as urban architecture, a visit to a supermarket chain, and a food takeaway.
Since 2012, Incidents (of Travel) explores distant corners of the world through day-long excursions and offline extended conversations between an artist and a curator as curatorial fieldwork and an expanded studio visit.
